£4,500 Donated by the Screwfix Foundation

A grant of £4,500 from the Screwfix Foundation will ensure we can keep our accommodation looking good.

The Screwfix Foundation is a registered charity set up in 2013 with the purpose of raising funds to support projects that will fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and community facilities for those in need throughout the UK.

We ask them for help with the cost of redecoration and refurbishment of our core accommodation project in Hexham. We feel it is really important that the standards of our accommodation remain high, as good as they were when the new service opened in 2010.

With the help of this grant we will be able to continue to do just that and during the summer we will begin a programme of redecoration both inside and outside the property.

Our intention is for this to be done by the residents working alongside a professional painter and decorator so that they can gain an understanding of the skills involved in this work and gain a greater sense of ownership in the project.

We’ll keep you up-dated as the work progresses.
